Google is on a mission to encourage more young people to study science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). Action Impact brought together the right collaborators to deliver a new Hub at Al Ain, Abu Dhabi. We acted as the lynchpin between United Arab Emirates University, Google, the Abu Dhabi Education Council, and the award-winning Edinburgh International Science Festival team, which we asked to design the curriculum. The idea was simple: create an engaging, dynamic space that's open to all young people, so they can develop their talents and knowledge to make a difference to the future.
We designed the Hub to bring Google's brand to life whilst being sensitive to local, cultural needs. The space used a range of materials to create an inspiring place of learning. Working with the Edinburgh International Science Festival team, Action Impact was able to build a curriculum which was linked to the needs of local schools, and then brought the learning to life trough a range of materials, teaching spaces and community areas.
Collaboration is at the heart of science and technology. Action Impact was at the heart of the team which brought the Google Innovation Hub to fruition. We ensured that the space, in itself, became a hub for collaboration between young people and teachers, Google and the region, local and national educators and the wider world of business.
Action Impact is now at the forefront of Google's drive to spread Innovation Hubs across the region.
